You were mixing what?
Before Dad Strength, there was a friendship that spanned twenty-plus years and countless beers. But it wasn’t until our early forties that we started doing something a bit unusual: mixing non-alcoholic craft beers with regular craft beers in the same glass to create our own mid-strength brews.
It became our signature quirk—because let’s face it, we can’t drink like we used to. We’re busy dads with responsibilities, and even a couple of high-ABV beers can make the next day a struggle.
We had a classic dad problem that needed a dad solution. And that got us thinking: why didn’t this type of beer exist? We searched high and low for a delicious, full-flavored craft beer with an ABV between two and three percent. And when we couldn’t find one, we knew it was up to us to fix it.
Enter: award-winning brewers.
That’s when things got serious. We reached out to our World Beer Cup gold medal–winning buddies at Atlas Brew Works, and over the course of a year (and eight or so pilot batches), Justin, V, Corey, and the gang helped us turn our idea into a reality: Dad Strength—America’s first dedicated low-ABV brewery, specializing in 100% delicious, 2.9% ABV craft brews with just 94 calories.
We started Dad Strength to solve a real problem. We love craft beer—but craft beer stopped loving us back. With Dad Strength, five-beer Fridays are back. Happy hour can last an hour again. And you can finally enjoy a few tasty craft brews without the next-day regrets.
The Magic ABV
The Dads often get asked: why 2.9% ABV?! Well, because it’s the sweet spot. The Goldilocks zone. Just enough to take the edge off without tipping you over it!
At 2.9%, you get real craft flavor and a gentle buzz—without the hangover. It’s beer that fits into real life, and whatever else adulthood throws your way. It gives you the freedom to have a few without sacrificing your morning after. It’s beer you can enjoy now and later.
That’s the magic of 2.9%. And that’s the Dadstory. We hope you enjoy Dad Strength as much as we do—and we can’t wait to launch the mid-strength movement together.

Half strength. Not half-assed.
There are several ways to reduce a beer's alcohol content, but most of them compromise the nose, flavor and mouthfeel. We don’t use any of those methods. Our base beer took over a year to develop by a team of award-winning brewers and each batch is crafted following our unique brewing process with painstaking attention to detail.
